IP Blocking
IP Blocking stops abusive or spammy visitors from submitting your forms by blocking their IP addresses — per form (Pro) or across your whole site (Agency).
What this does
You maintain a list of IP addresses that aren’t allowed to submit. Blocked visitors are prevented from sending the form, cutting down spam and abuse.
- Per‑form blocking (Pro): applies to a specific form.
- Global blocking (Agency): applies across all your forms/site.
Why it exists: a persistent spammer or abuser can be stopped at the source, protecting your inbox and data.
Typical use cases
- Blocking an IP that repeatedly spams a form.
- Stopping abusive submissions site‑wide.
- Reducing junk entries alongside Turnstile.
How to use it
- Enable IP Blocking on FormFlow → Features (Security & Analytics group).
- Go to FormFlow → Security to manage the blocklist.
- Add the IP address(es) to block. Choose per‑form (Pro) or global (Agency) scope as available.
- Save, then test that a blocked IP can’t submit.
Tips & Best Practices
-
Block specific offenders, not broad ranges, to avoid catching real customers.
-
Combine with Turnstile. Bot protection plus IP blocking is more effective than either alone.
-
Review your list periodically. Remove entries that are no longer needed.
-
Note that IPs can change. Determined abusers may switch IPs — layer defenses (Turnstile, validation).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is IP blocking free?
No — per‑form blocking is Pro; site‑wide (global) blocking is Agency.
What’s the difference between per‑form and global?
Per‑form blocks apply to one form; global blocks apply everywhere on your site.
Where do I manage the blocklist?
On the FormFlow → Security tab.
Will blocking an IP affect real customers?
Only if they share that IP. Block specific offenders and avoid broad ranges.
Does it stop all spam?
It stops the listed IPs. For broader bot protection, add Cloudflare Turnstile.
Can abusers get around it?
They can change IPs, so combine IP blocking with other protections for best results.
