Updating to a new version

FormFlow updates like any WordPress plugin — see Automatic Updates. The safe routine:

  1. Back up your site (files + database), especially on a live site.
  2. If possible, test the update on staging first.
  3. Update from Plugins → Installed Plugins (or Dashboard → Updates).
  4. Verify afterward: open a form in Elementor, submit a test entry, and confirm fields/logic still behave.

Your forms and settings are preserved across updates.

Upgrading your tier (Starter → Pro → Agency)

  1. Purchase a Pro or Agency license.
  2. Go to FormFlow → License, enter your key and email, and click Activate.
  3. The features for your tier unlock immediately on the Features tab and in Elementor.

Nothing is lost. See License Activation and Free vs Pro vs Agency.

Downgrading or letting a license lapse

  • Higher‑tier features lock, but your forms and settings are kept.
  • Forms that used a now‑locked feature keep their configuration; the locked feature simply won’t run until you renew.
  • Renewing restores everything.

Moving your license to another site

  1. On the old site: FormFlow → License → Deactivate.
  2. On the new site: enter your key and email and Activate.

This keeps you within your allowed‑sites limit — see Plans & Tiers.

Requirements & compatibility

  • Keep Elementor active and up to date; the form fields require Elementor Pro at the supported version.
  • Keep WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+.
  • After migrating hosts/domains, deactivate the license first, then reactivate on the new domain.

Version‑specific notes

  • (None yet. A note is added here for any release that needs special upgrade steps.)

Tips & Best Practices

  • Always back up before updating a live site.

  • Keep Elementor Pro updated so form fields stay compatible.

  • Keep your license active for continued features and updates.

  • Read the Release Notes before major updates.
