License Activation
Activating your SubscriptionFlow Pro license unlocks all Pro features on your site. This page shows you how.
On this page
First, a quick clarification
There are two “license” areas in SubscriptionFlow — don’t mix them up:
- SubscriptionFlow → License (this page) — activates your own SubscriptionFlow Pro license, unlocking Pro features on your store.
- SubscriptionFlow → Licenses — manages the licenses you issue to your customers when they buy your subscription products. See Licenses (admin).
This page is about the first one: turning on Pro.
What this does
When you activate your license key, SubscriptionFlow confirms it with the license server and switches your site from Starter (Free) to Pro — enabling automatic renewals, gateways, security, Elementor widgets, and the Pro settings.
Why it exists: it’s how you unlock and keep your paid features, and how you receive Pro‑gated functionality tied to your subscription.
How to activate
Step 1 — Open the License page
Go to SubscriptionFlow → License.
Step 2 — Enter your details
- Paste your license key.
- Enter the email address connected to the license.
Step 3 — Activate
Click Activate. SubscriptionFlow verifies the key and, on success, marks your site as Pro. Pro features appear immediately across the plugin.
Deactivating
If you’re moving the license to another site, use Deactivate on the License page first. This frees a slot so you can activate elsewhere — see License Status & Allowed Sites.
What activation unlocks
Once active, the following become available (previously shown as “Upgrade to Pro”):
- Automatic renewals and payment gateways (PayPal Vault, Stripe).
- Security suite (2FA, SMS, recovery codes, Turnstile, security logs).
- Elementor widgets (Dashboard, Login, Checkout).
- The Settings tabs (Dashboard, PDF Invoice, Checkout, Security).
- Advanced product rules, plan switching, and dashboard invoices.
See the full list in Starter Free vs Pro.
Tips & Best Practices
-
Use the exact email tied to your license. A mismatched email is the most common reason activation is refused.
-
Deactivate before migrating. Moving hosts or domains? Deactivate first so you don’t waste an allowed‑site slot.
-
A brief outage won’t lock you out. If the license server is temporarily unreachable, SubscriptionFlow keeps your last‑known Pro status so your store isn’t disrupted.
-
Keep the license active to continue receiving Pro features.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I get a license key?
From your purchase confirmation or your account on the store where you bought SubscriptionFlow Pro.
Do I have to activate to use the plugin?
No — the Starter (Free) plan works without a license. Activation unlocks Pro features.
Activation says my key doesn’t match — why?
Check that you entered the correct key and the email tied to the license, and that you haven’t exceeded your allowed sites.
Can I use one license on several sites?
Up to the allowed‑sites limit of your license. See License Status & Allowed Sites.
What happens when my license expires?
Pro features lock (your data stays safe), and the site returns to Starter behavior until you renew.
Is this the same as the licenses I sell to my customers?
No. This activates your SubscriptionFlow Pro. The licenses you sell are managed on the Licenses (admin) page.
Will my site break if the license server is down briefly?
No — SubscriptionFlow keeps your last‑known plan during short outages, so paying customers aren’t affected.
